After a disappointing run in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers, Canada look to rebound in the upcoming matches against Afghanistan at Sharjah. The team has been away from home for nearly 2 months. Canada will play Afghanistan in 2 ODI's, followed by a 3-day match. Although they have struggled in the T20 matches, they will look for form in the ODI's, a format they are more familiar with.
Aghish Bagai - The skip had some good knocks during the qualifiers and warm-up games in Sri Lanka. The best of him is yet to be seen.
Hiral Patel - Looks solid when he takes his time at the crease, judging him by his contributions in the T20's would not be fair. You can expect him to take on a more responsible role at the top of the order by playing out the innings.
Rizwan Cheema - The slugger has struggled in recent games. Not just with the bat, he has also been struggling with the ball.
Sandeep Jyoti - He was dropped from the T20 squad, but look for him to make a comeback for the ODI's with the ball and bat. His maturity in batting and handy off-spin will play a big role during the ODI's and 3-day match. The big question mark is if the selectors will include him in the playing XI with Barnette and Davison being part of the squad; however, both have struggled in the T20's.

Canada will look to rebound after going win-less in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers!
